“The Curse Of The Great Mughal,” my contemporary romance about a brooding Djinn, a headstrong Faerie, and the cursed diamond that throws them together, has finalled in the Young Adult categories of THREE prestigious writing competitions sponsored by Romance Writers of America!
1. The Marlene Awards, sponsored by the Washington chapter. Currently in the final phase of judging, with Kristin Daly of HarperCollins.
***Update: The contest winners were announced on May 1st, and I’m happy to report that I’ve been deemed the First Runner Up in the YA category. So close!***
2. The Fire and Ice Contest, sponsored by the Chicago chapter. Currently in the final phase of judging, with Andrea Somberg, of the Harvey Klinger Literary Agency.
***Update: I was ranked second in the Young Adult category, and received some very useful comments from both the preliminary, and final round judges. Also, I’ve been invited to the Chicago North chapter’s reception at the Romance Writers of America conference in NYC this June!
3. The Duel On The Delta Contest, sponsored by the River City chapter. Currently in the final phase of judging with Maryglenn McCombs, of Oceanview Publishing.
***Update: I placed second in the Young Adult category–nice! A great experience, with plenty of valuable feedback gained from experts.
